Watch out Connecticut, I've almost arrived! I'm in New York now, already crossed the Hudson River, and should be arriving in Connecticut in another day or two!
Beth--I don't have your e-mail address. Please e-mail me if you still want to meet! How is the gerbil doing? Can I still pay my last respects?
If any of you other Connecticut Yankees want to meet, be sure to e-mail me. I'll be happy to try to figure out a time and place we can all try to meet at some point in the next week! =)
At the moment, I'm planning on passing through Kent on the 28th and passing by Cornwall Bridge on the 29th.
There are only about 50 miles of AT trail in Connecticut, so I won't be around for long!
Then it's into Massachusetts for 90 miles or so. A bit longer than Connecticut, but still, I should be through that state in less than a week too!

Well, I say we have a little southwestern MA gathering when Ryan gets to the Mt. Washington/Mt. Everett area...how about it?
Ryan--can you predict when you'll show up there?

Man, you're smoking up that footpath! I'd very much like to meet with
Ryan for some trail magic and wonder if we New Englanders can put
something together for him, on either of the dates/places he
mentions. I think he'll be through too fast for us to spirit him off-
trail to the MA Gathering at Wendell State Park, but another
opportunity will be when he's finishing Massachusetts at Mt Greylock.
That would be a perfect spot for a Ryan-Gathering, since it's right
on the AT and there's a hostel popular with the thru-hikers (not to
mention a road up for us mere mortals).
I'd be glad to work on setting things up: Ryan (and Amanda, if you're
listening) and everyone interested please don't hesitate to write or
call me.
Jay, an AT wannabee who has been living vicariously through Ryan's
wonderful trail journals.

A gather on Mt. Greylock would be a good choice. There
are several brand new boxes on that mountain, and it's
relatively easy to get to.

Hey Ryan,
do you think you'll be able to attend the Wendell, Ma gathering?
It is for the weekend of August 16. It may be well worth your
while to hang out for this event!
Just a thought, otherwise we would love to meet up with you at
some point while you are in the NorthEast!

For those of you following my travels, I am now in Gorham, New Hampshire, a few miles from the Maine border and less than 300 miles of white blazes left to follow. =)
It seems Internet access is getting harder to acquire, so I fear I will not have a chance to post more of my trail adventures until after I actually finish--perhaps in late September. I'll try to get in one more before I finish the trail, but no promises.
For you letterboxers out there, the White Mountains are simply incredible! Get out there before the snows start! =) Not recommended for children and people with weak hearts, however. Those trails kicked my butt! Haven't they ever heard of SWITCHBACKS in this part of the country?!
Team Green Dragon: I tried to reply to your e-mail, but it bounced! Is there a specific e-mail address I should reply to?
Carpe diem!
